Let’s take these Essential Oils out for a spin, shall we?

If you have read the “About Me” page on my website, you would have seen that my interest in essential oils began with my discovery of Reiki. I have found that the use of essential oils is a very natural and healthy alternative to some western medicines, as is with the case with Reiki. I do not make this statement lightly of course. I spent months researching the ins and outs of essential oils. I also know that I still have so much more to learn.

At the start of my studies, it took some time to sort through the different grades, purity, providers, and all the information that went with it. I fell in love with the doTERRA brand of essential oils, and I now represent the company as a wellness advocate. But the best research I had was through the hands-on experience by my own personal use with these essential oils.

My first shipment of essential oils

The decision was made, and doTERRA was my oil of choice. I proceeded to enroll as a wellness advocate. I then verified the shipment status on a daily basis to see when I would finally receive my new kit. Finally, well it felt like a very long time, my first shipment of essential oils arrived.

I still remember how excited I was when I opened the first bottle of Peppermint EO, and helped myself to the wonderful aroma. What a magical moment it was. After playing with the bottles and reading all the literature, I arranged the bottles on a shelf in my room.

Little did I know at the time that my order had arrived just in time. The very next day, I woke up with a very, very bad cold. Perfect! I thought. Let’s take these essential oils out for a spin and see what they can do.

After a week of rubbing here, and inhaling there, the cold had progressed in my chest, and I recognized the symptoms of bronchitis. This was not my first bout with this ailment. Still unsure of the power of the oils, I went to the local walk-in clinic to have my suspicions diagnosed. Sure enough, bronchitis it was, and puffers I was given. Still, I continued administering the oils alongside the medication. I rubbed Oregano and Lemon on the bottom of my feet, inhaled the On Guard and Easy Air essential oil blends. I applied oils to my chest and to my throat and forehead.

After a week with the essential oils

A week later, two things happened. First, I realized that I had used up a large percentage of my first shipment of essential oils. As a side note, I would like to give you a little piece of wisdom. A 5mL bottle of any Essential Oil is pretty small. I regret not having purchased the 15mL sized bottles in the first place. Just saying…..

Anyway, the second, and more important thing that happened is that my bronchitis was gone. Truly. Only after two weeks! I have had sessions of bronchitis last from six weeks to two months with that cough that bruises your sides. Yes, two weeks and I was fine. I am still amazed at how effective the oils were during this time, and how it had shortened my recovery time significantly.

For me, it was a wonderful hands-on experience. I was able to judge for myself the effectiveness and remarkable qualities that are stored in those magical amber bottles. It was a crash course in essential oils for sure, that supported my findings.

A week later, I fell, tore the anterior cruciate ligament, or ACL, in my left knee. I was then able to learn about Deep Blue and Lemongrass. But that is a topic for another blog.

I do not recommend this form of research to support the claims surrounding the oils, but it is certainly comforting to know that they truly work wonders. Take one out for a spin today, and you too shall join the world of Essential Oils. Enjoy!!!

Peppermint, lemon and lavender, has replaced my Reactine allergy pills. Stops the allergens as soon as I inhale these three oils. It gets rid of the mucus and brings down inflammation in nasal passages. I inhale them 2 to 3 times a day as needed.
    I Love my oils!
